Our Adopted Orangutans

The Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation relies heavily on generous donations to care for its orang utans. The adoption fees and donations are channeled towards: The purchase of food; upgrading of the island’s facilities and research centre; and provision of the medical attention and rehabilitation each orang utan needs to survive. The adoption fee of RM200 per orang utan goes a long way in ensuring they receive the care and attention they need.

Initially we launched a fund to adopt just an orangutan at Bukit Merah Orangutan Island Foundation. We were overwhelmed with the support shown by our peers, teachers and staff. In the end, we managed to raise RM600 to adopt 3 orangutans. They are Eliyas, Fatt Fatt and Deepa.
